What this is
DigiTrove is a directory of subscription tools, organised by the job you are trying to do rather than by who paid to be at the top.
Why a directory and not a ranking
Most tool round-ups are league tables, and league tables are the wrong shape for this. The best project manager for a two-person studio is not the best one for a fifty-person agency, and calling either of them “#1” helps nobody.
So every entry here does the same three things instead: says plainly what the tool does, names the specific job it is good at, and describes the person it suits. If that person is not you, the entry has done its job by telling you so quickly.
What you will not find
- Prices. Plans change constantly and vary by country. We point you at the provider for the current figure rather than quoting one that goes stale in a month.
- Scores out of ten. A single number hides the thing you actually needed to know.
- Paid placement. No sponsored slots, no “featured partner” positions, no listings for sale.
How it is funded
Affiliate commissions. When you sign up for something through a link here, the provider pays us a referral fee and you pay exactly what you would have paid going direct.
Two rules keep that clean. Tools with no affiliate programme are listed alongside the ones that have one, described the same way. And nothing is added to the directory because it pays well — the question is always whether someone looking for that job would be glad to find it.
Keeping it current
Tools get discontinued, acquired, renamed and rebuilt. If something here is out of date or plain wrong, tell us — corrections usually go live the same week.
